Its been a most enjoyable week so far, taking a little break from work, and flying off to bangkok tomorrow afternoon and returning on friday. And i caught the finals of the world cup, the only match that I watched during this world cup season and was even remotely interested in. But I found the idea of watching with a group of friends appealing. Mum, though not altogether approving, grudgingly let me go. Thus on sunday night, I set off at 11pm to a friend's place in Ghim Moh, and when everyone had reached, we set off to Bukit Timah where I had a very yummy plate of marsala thosai and well-pulled teh tarik before we settled down for the biggest match in four years. Though I wasn't very sure of the dynamics of the gameplay, another friend's running commentary helped alot. And I almost lasted through the whole match, but fell asleep on steph's shoulder for 15mins during the extra time and thus missing the red card that Zidane got. I feel quite sorry for him, his last match ending in such disgrace and receiving so much flake from the public who are way too harsh on him.

After the match, after hanging around for a bit, Steph sent me home during the wee hours of the morning where one should be in bed. After washing up, I fell into bed at 7am, waking up at 10.30, and feeling quite ok despite the lack of sleep. That very day(yesterday) happened to be our 15th month too :) And mb gave me a surprise by meeting me at night and bring me to Bakerzin at one fullerton, knowing how much I love sweet stuff. We each ordered a set dessert. He ordered a coupe cheesecake and Mocha and I ordered 3 dessert tapas( creme brulee, raspberry panna cotta and strawberry fondue) and hot chocolate. When the food came, we tucked in eagerly before I decided to take out my camera..hahah. The coupe cheesecake was quite yummy, with 3 scoops of cheesecake ice-cream topped with digestive biscuits crumbs and strawberry puree.

And I discovered my new love- panna cotta. My first try of it was nothing short of orgasmic, surprisingly considering it is a non-chocolate dessert. It was soft, wobbly, rich and melt in the mouth, and with a delicate vanilla flavour, paired off beautifully with the tangy raspberry sauce. It has also made me want to try making my own panna cotta. It should be quite simple, considering its ingredients consist of cream, milk, sugar, gelatine and vanilla and is non-baked.

After desserts, we went for a walk along the river. Its so amazing how we are still very much in love with each other, much more than we first started out. It wasn't entirely smooth-sailing, but I think we have grown and matured and become more wise as time has gone past. We may be annoyed with each other at times, but we have learnt to accept and deal with each other's shortcomings. Mb, especially, has learnt how to deal with me with much patience and loving, my love for expensive food(heehee), my rather formidable mother. He know just what to say or do when I am in need of comfort(giving me chocs etc) and writing me notes of encouragement and so much more. Together we have embarked on this journey of discovery, and though we are unsure of what the future holds, I truly believe that with Christ in the centre of this relationship, will hold us together and let us hold strong.
