Is it true that women, when they reach a certain age would have terrible moodswings? I am not entirely sure, but looking at my mum, it could be true. Today, she was in an extremely bad mood, snapping at me and brenda when just yesterday, she was perfectly fine. And this happens on an extremely frequent basis. Anyway, she was in a foul mood the entire day, and when I was making panna cotta(I will come to that later), she scolded me for always baking for people, and forbade me from baking for my dad, and said that if I did, she would throw it away. And during dinner time, she continued scolding and scolding. I kept my cool, but that didn't mean I kept quiet. She kept going on and on and on, badmouthing everybody but herself. To cut it short, my last dinner in singapore wasn't very pleasant and ended up in an argument, I was trying to reason with her, but she is really beyond reasoning.

But..I shan't let her bother me cos I AM GOING BANGKOK tomorrow, and I am so super excited..haven't finished packing yet, but I shall pack light and return with a bulging luggage..hahah. I also successfully made my first panna cotta which is really so easy to make, but you don't really see it around in bakeries and all. Its an italian dessert and very very rich, but I love it for its delicateness and the melt in the mouth texture.

I could't wait to make my own and decided to make it today for want of better things to do. The only thing I had to buy was cream. I halved the recipe as I didn't want to make so much. And i used vanilla essence instead of vanilla pod as it is quite hard to find in singapore and pretty costly.

Ingredients:
225g milk
400ml whipping cream
50g sugar
2tsp powdered gelatine

1. Head everything in a pan over medium high heat, stirring frequently until gelatine and sugar is completely dissolved. DO not bring to boil.
2. Pour into ramekins and refrigerate at least 4 hours
3. To unmould, run warm knife around edge of each ramekin and then invert onto a dessert plate. Serve with raspberry sauce.

I did not use ramekins as I do not have them, just some cheap plastic containers. And I did not refrigerate them long enough as I couldn't wait. Otherwise, the texture of the dessert was just as I remembered, and tasted almost just as good, albeit without the nice presentation and sauce. It is definitely a dessert I would make again, but not too often unless I want to gain weight..hahah.

Off to pack luggage now, will post lots of pictures when I am back :)
