I am back from Bangkok!! Was back on Sunday actually, but have been to lazy to post anything. I enjoyed the trip tremendously, not least because I got to go with mb. It was kind of a family trip, so that means we went everywhere together, except the last two nights where we excused ourselves for some private fun. The trip in many ways was somewhat restrictive due to my grandma's inability to walk alot, thus we didn't get to go chatuchak market, nor night markets and shopping time was cut short. But I am glad she enjoyed herself.
What I loved about Bangkok:
1. The breakfast buffet at the hotel. What can I say, I am a glutton and I love the wide spread of food provided at our hotel which was pretty delicious. It was such a luxury to be able to breathe in the aroma of coffee and food wafting around.
2. The cheap food in bangkok. The seafood over there is good and cheap, especially Chinatown. We ate pad thai almost every meal and I am still not sick of it yet..hahah..guess thai express would have to do for now. I especially love the street side pad thai and the pancakes which is actually a sort of prata with egg, with topping of banana and chocolate, drizzled with condensed milk. Sinful but yummy.
3. Phuwin, Steph's thai friend, brought us to this riverside bar one night(without the family). It was like a double date which made it all the more fun and romantic. I think I enjoyed this the most. I found it very enjoyable to listen to Phuwin and his girlfriend Naan conversing in thai, it sounded so gentle and melodious, wherease ours sounded loud and unrefined..hahah
4. The endless shopping, there are so many malls to choose from, though I felt the time allocated for shopping was insufficient. Thus I, being a fussy shopper, did not buy much in the end.
5. The tuk tuk ride on the last night back to hotel after going to Khao San for another meeting with steph's friends. I kind of avoided it before, being mindful of the air pollution over there and their somewhat reckless way of driving. But on the last night, I decided to heck it and had one of the most thrilling rides ever.
I shall stop now and let pictures do the talking..
ps: after all the non-stop eating in bangkok, I am now on a diet...hahah.
