Had a sucky day at work today, at the same shift with two waitresses I didn't particularly like and know. There can be good days and there can be bad days, and on a bad day, I just feel like crawling into a hole and hiding from the world, preferably a hole filled with chocolates.

The first hour of the shift was spent standing around, waiting for customers, I didn't really feel like making fake small talks with the other waitresses. After that, when the crowd decended on us, one hour passed in a whirl. I hate making mistakes and always berate myself for it. I hate it even more when something is not my fault, and I get told off for it. I was pretty pissed off by that waitress, what right does she have to tell me off. Just because she has been working longer than me, just because I am a 'newbie'?

I hate hypocrisy at work and anywhere else. I had a good chat with dad just the other day about working life and how there would always be office politics and people who are backstabbers, bootlickers, hypocrites and I would have to learn how to deal with them without stooping to their level. I think that it is very true. In a holiday job, I can just console myself with the fact that it is not a permanent job and that I can go back to school, free of complications like these. But how long more would it be before I step into the working world. Less than a year, I reckon, and like it or not, I cannot escape. I sure don't look forward to it though...

After coming back from bangkok, I have been pretty much slacking at home, still very much in a holiday mood. Feels like I am wasting away my time sometimes, but hey, its one more month to the end of hols, and I should just relax and have fun before term starts and work start piling up. But actually apart from the bangkok trip, I don't feel like this holiday has been much fun.

I had work tonite, but it was such a quiet night that I was basically standing around doing nothing, not that I am complaining. Time seemed to pass much slower, but I also got to sneak to the kitchen for some food. At around 9.30, I got a cryptic msg from mb asking me to pop by BK after work, and so I was skipping around the kitchen happily.

At exactly 10, I left work and went to BK, and to my non surprise, I saw him. Its quite amazing how happy I am to see him, even though I just saw him like on Mon. The sight of him never fails to life me up, what a wonderful feeling being in love is, and to think that in Bangkok, we were actually cross with each other almost everyday, over pretty trivial matters, now come think of it, guess we still have lots more to learn.

He sent me home, a lingering kiss in the lift and I floated back, happy. He makes me smile like no one else can...

I am back from Bangkok!! Was back on Sunday actually, but have been to lazy to post anything. I enjoyed the trip tremendously, not least because I got to go with mb. It was kind of a family trip, so that means we went everywhere together, except the last two nights where we excused ourselves for some private fun. The trip in many ways was somewhat restrictive due to my grandma's inability to walk alot, thus we didn't get to go chatuchak market, nor night markets and shopping time was cut short. But I am glad she enjoyed herself.

What I loved about Bangkok:

1. The breakfast buffet at the hotel. What can I say, I am a glutton and I love the wide spread of food provided at our hotel which was pretty delicious. It was such a luxury to be able to breathe in the aroma of coffee and food wafting around.

2. The cheap food in bangkok. The seafood over there is good and cheap, especially Chinatown. We ate pad thai almost every meal and I am still not sick of it yet..hahah..guess thai express would have to do for now. I especially love the street side pad thai and the pancakes which is actually a sort of prata with egg, with topping of banana and chocolate, drizzled with condensed milk. Sinful but yummy.

3. Phuwin, Steph's thai friend, brought us to this riverside bar one night(without the family). It was like a double date which made it all the more fun and romantic. I think I enjoyed this the most. I found it very enjoyable to listen to Phuwin and his girlfriend Naan conversing in thai, it sounded so gentle and melodious, wherease ours sounded loud and unrefined..hahah

4. The endless shopping, there are so many malls to choose from, though I felt the time allocated for shopping was insufficient. Thus I, being a fussy shopper, did not buy much in the end.

5. The tuk tuk ride on the last night back to hotel after going to Khao San for another meeting with steph's friends. I kind of avoided it before, being mindful of the air pollution over there and their somewhat reckless way of driving. But on the last night, I decided to heck it and had one of the most thrilling rides ever.

I shall stop now and let pictures do the talking..

ps: after all the non-stop eating in bangkok, I am now on a diet...hahah.

Swenson's. Not to be missed in bangkok, the price is so much cheaper than in S'pore. The above fondue only cost about SGD10, what a steal. And it was very very good. A yummy end to a equally satisfying dinner Posted by Picasa
