Yumin's bag..nice rite...I absolutely love it Posted by Picasa
Went out with the girls tonite..It was very fun and something I had looked forward to. We met at hereens where we had a fun time posing for pics before heading to nydc for dinner...horaay..It was lovely meeting them, just had so many things to say, though we hadnt met up for so long, yet the camaraderie was still there, its like, the good old times I guess. Poking fun at each other, gossipping, teasing and yeah..just talking.. Dinner was good, I had my long craved for baked pasta which was yummmyyy..and dessert was jazzy brownie and new york cheesecake with chocolate icecream...

After dinner, we just walked around Hereens. Cindy wanted to buy sunglasses, so we went into this spectacle shop and had fun trying the various glasses, ranging from retro to modern..it was so hilarious, wanted to take pictures, but was stopped by the sales assistant. Cindy was deciding between gucci and guess(lucky girl) and got guess in the end. Thought she looked very good with sunglasses though, could carry it out and looked hot, I just look plain weird in it..hahah

Had a great nite...and many photos to show for it...
It just occured to me that I like the bag that I got for yumin very much. Its this dainty little bag that screams class. Its white with baby blue rims and with pokka dots of light blue and yellowand is really really lovely.. I will post the pic up tonight. Haha..its just the bag I need, size wise I mean, and goes really well with the outfit that I am wearing today, which is a blue miniskirt with white top...

Can I don't give it to her? hahah..She'd better like it..or else....
Heee..went shopping at Bugis again today. Was supposed to look for a bag for yumin for her birthday present, which I found. And I saw this totally gorgeous bag which had me written all over it, and I just had to buy it. As usual, it came in a few different sizes, this totally adorable tote bag just big enough to put a book and some other stuff in it, and another big one, almost the size of my present one which needs replacing already cos its tearing. Needless to say, I went for the big one Oh, did I mention that the prize reduction was from $90 to $40. 40 bucks is still pretty steep for a bag, but I was in a splurging mood and besides, I really liked it alot. It was an impulse buy, but I didnt really regret it...But I kind of regret buying the mickey one which I bought the other time though, its neither big nor small..I havent even used it yet, maybe I will just keep it and give it as a present to a mickey lover or smth. But then again, a girl can never have too many bags rite? Not for me though, I hate changing bags cos I have a lot of 'barang barangs' in my bags and I hate transferring from one bag to the other. So I can never understand how some women can have different bags everyday to match their attire. Now, I really need a small dainty bag for when there is no need for carrying such a big bag....

Wore heels today, luckily no accidents(yet), but my feet are kind of aching from the long walk(1hr10mins).. and work was pretty unproductive today cos in the morning,I was in a very dreamy state...hahah...sorry ntuc income, I would work harder the rest of the day..

I am super and beyond pissed. My mum is totally unreasonable, sometimes, I think she is not in her right mind...I am so shaking with anger now that I cant even type properly, its been a very long time since I lost my temper, and she is the only one who can ever make me do that..

I came home early today cos dad has a golf tournament and I didnt feel like going anywhere else, in short, was feeling quite unsociable. I spend the afternoon reading and then went gym in the evening. Dinner time was alright,we were actually having normal conversation without the sarcarstic undertones or coldtreatment I have been getting for the past few weeks. In fact, I thought every thing was just going to be normal. After dinner, I watched Artificial Intelligence in the living room and mum joined me, this is quite rare, cos I seldom watch television with her, normally she would just watch her channel 55 and 48, but everything was still ok..

Nearing the end of the movie, she suddenly told me off for occupying the seat she normally sits in

M: Do you know you that you are very selfish, occupying my seat
T: But you normally sit in the other one
M:You havent been home for so long, how would you know?
T: Well, you can always tell me and I will go elsewhere...(like tell me instead of snapping, like I can read her mind)

This was quite a silly argument cos it didnt matter to me where I sat, and there are two television sets in my house, if she werent happy with the arrangment, she could always tell me and I could move off somewhere, or just go back to my room. But no, she went on, saying I was very selfish and self-centered and didnt care about her at all...Oh yeah, and she told me to go back to live with dad... At first, I just thought she was mad,and decided not to further prolong it by retreating to my room, feeling the temptation to slam it shut, but thought the better of it.

There I was, muttering the things I wished I can say to her face when she flung open the door and just continued scolding and scolding, about the tv(again), about me spending so much time away from home(as if), saying I only go home when I need her, like today, expecting her to cook when normally on sundays, she just cooks instant noodles and that I disrupted her sunday. At this point,I really feel the urge to curse.Wtf,when I came home,I minded my own business and never told her to cook dinner, I would have been just as happy cooking my own instand noodles and besides it was my maid who cooked. Then she had to drag stephen in by saying that now my bf is away,I would always hang around at home, I snapped that I would stil be out quite often.
And she said I always baked for my friends and never for her, yeah, and since when has she been interested in what I baked. When I baked cookies or what, I always offered her, but she always turned up her nose at it or always had some comments about it. So on and on she went... After she finally left the room again...I felt the urge to cry again..I am really turning into a water bucket

What a day,and I was just feeling better to do and she had to go spoil it all...my family is dysfuntinal, period.
dysfuntional

The final farewell...thanks to shiang, derek, jul and gsy who turned up at the airport and for the moral support Posted by Picasa

see the luscious strawberry jam with the semi melted chocolate chips?? Posted by Picasa
Pheww..had such a busy morning..Woke up at around 8.30..finally a nice long enough sleep, been averaging 5hrs sleep daily for the past week. Went to cold storage to buy baking ingredients and started baking something new, which is supposed to be chocolate raspberry almond bar, which I modified to choc strawberry pecan bar...hahah..this is definitely one recipe that I didnt go by the book,so to speak..

It was super hectic, cos while I was baking, mum was using the computer, and she was not very good with it, so she would keep calling me out from the kitchen to ask me questions, some of which were like completely sillly questions..faints..So with my hands all floured and dirty, I had to rush from the kitchen to the studyroom quite a couple of times and almost shrieked with frustration...hahah...and the recipe was giving me grief cos it was the first time I had attempted it and the shortbread crust seemed too sticky and I had trouble evening it out on the pan..

The result was...it was delicious..first time I tried strawberry and choc and nuts and it was yummmyy, though the shortbread crust turned out too soft and moist,oh well, its the first time after all...pretty satisfied with the results..and here are the pics..
Took leave from work again to spend time with stephen today. We went for breakfast early in the morning at clementi for a splendid breakfast. Some aussie fish and chips thingy which serves pancakes in the morning. It was pretty good, though they ran out of bananas, so I couldnt have the banana and caramel pancakes which was my first choice, thus I went for pancakes with egg and fish nuggets which came with excellent tartare sauce..yummmyy. But I wanna try their supposedly best fish and chips though, even have money back guarantee.

We took a bus down to PS to catch War of the Worlds which was a waste of money. Thought the movie was too long and draggy, the ending was too abrupt and the storyline is sooo far fetched, so totally ridiculous at times.. After the movie,we just went for a walk at Fort Cannings park before heading to his house for dinner which was quite a big and homely affair...

I had a really lovely day today, with the most special person in my life. It seems like we were especially sweet and affectionate towards each other today cos it would be the last time we would do that, for 6 weeks.. Yeah, guess you only know just how much a person means to you only when you know you are not going to see him for a very long time. This last couple of days has been especially special cos we both know how much we mean to each other... I am going to miss him alot alot alot...Tmr is coming soon... sigh

I had an interesting morning at work today. There was some sort of power drill going on where the power supply was cut off. It occurred around 10am and lasted all the way to 12pm. During that time, the office became pretty chaotic with people walking around and not working..and it was pretty dim as well. There was also food going around and even a mini phototaking session..heh..good thing I had my trusty camera with me.

Went raffles city during lunctime. Looked halfheartedly into Mango, but the crowd put me off. Everything was in such a mess and anyway, I have already gotten all that I needed, for the time being anyway. But the Zara sale starts tomorrow, according to my cousin cecilia who called me at work asking me to go with her today, which, unfortunately, I could not. Heh, but I can always go to the one at great world city and shop leisurely instead of squeezing with the throngs of people at the Liat towers branch which is undeniably bigger.

I have been doing perfume 'window' shopping this few days. I tried on Curious by britney which I rather liked and which smells like Blue, though nicer. I think its pretty unique. I still like Blue alot, but I think that it seems to smell nicer on other people than when I smell it on myself. Thats why I didnt buy it in the first place, cos I think it doesnt smell nice on me. A little tidbit of information, did u know that the same perfume can smell differently on different people? This is due to the body's own natural odour(the same one that attracts the opposite sex) which interacts with the molecules of the perfume to give a different smell. Remember reading it somewhere...haaha...And I tried Dior addict today which I like too,it has a sweet and fruity smell though it can be quite cloying at times. But for perfumes,I would think through my options before buying. It is, after all, not a cheap buy and would last me very long.

I wandered into Marks and spencer where I saw stacks and stacks of chocolate viennese biscuit calling out my name and unable to resist the temptation, I bought it cos I havent eaten it in ages. Its my all time favourite too, ranking up there with famous amos cookies. My first bite was total bliss, I was transported into another world where nothing but chocolate exists, just like in cadbury land...hahah. Yummmy, the buttery cookies with milk chocolate sandwiched in between is really out of this world.

Help... I am unable to stop now....hahah

Just came home from a walk with steph after dinner at home today. Just 3 days without seeing each other and we were both like quite sian half already..oh man, the next one would be 6 weeeks...hmm...we walked past copthorn hotel, past Zouk, past some nice park, past the very empty zion riverside foodcentre past coffee shop outside my house filled with people eating prata and settled down as well for tehtarik and prata..It was pretty yummy, loved the cheese and mushroom prata.. It was hot and crispy and very very yummilicious. I downed my steaming hot teh tahrik down in a flash, burning my tongue in the process. I have become pretty partial to teh tariks, probably since KL trip and have a non-stop craving for it. At least its cheap, unlike my previous attachment to cafe lattes, my fave being Olio dome and baker's inn.

And we took plenty of pics, very trigger happy there..shall post it tomorrow..

I am glad everything is out in the open now
That you are just as affected as me
At first I was quite hurt cos I thought u didnt care
Now i know
That we are both filled with pride
And guard our emotions fiercely
But I will never stop loving you
And this 6 weeks will past very fast
Cos I know you are always there in my heart

An extraordinary encounter

Today, after work, as i walking to city hall mrt to take my bus home, I met this angmoh who wanted to know the way to Funan centre. As it was near city hall, I offered to take him there. He introduced himself and Alan/Allen(whatever) and that he was from America and was a writer. As we walked,we chatted and apparently he was alone in Singapore and was going to go Japan or Hongkong next. I told him that I was from NUS majoring in sociology and that I was working during the hols...surprisingly I was being very chatty, but I thought as he was a tourist, must give a good impression mah.. ;)

It all seemed pretty harmless I suppose, but I couldnt help but wonder what would people see me when I was walking next to him, a SPG??( Horror). Thus I kept my distance, trying to keep a gap between us. On the contrary, he seemed to be walking closer and closer to me. As we reached the road juntion near Carlton hotel, he suddenly got his bearings and also the way to Funan. Then he asked me..

A: Are you old enough to drink?
T:(warily) I suppose so...
A: Want to go for a drink?(indicates carlton hotel)
T: Err, no, that would be necessary, I am going home for dinner
A: Are you sure you don't want to go for coffee or anything?
T: Hahha..yeah,its alright, really..

(And when it became apparent I wasnt going anywhere with him and we were going to part, he asked for my contact number which I refused to give of course, he could be a wolf in sheep's clothings for I all know)

A: Can I have you contact number so that we can meet up for drinks or something again next time
T:(very hesitantly...trying to look for escape, very aware that the drivers in the cars would looking at us)Err, I don't think so
A: Well, you never know, perhaps one day....
T:Weeelll, you see, I don't know you very well and all...

He got the message, as he was leaving, he leaned over and said, I think you are a very cute girl, your smile is really beautiful, all the best for your course in Sociology.

.......

I couldnt help being a little flattered, though I was not impressed. Was he for real?

One thing for sure, Americans have really glib tongues. I thanked him with a nice smile and went on my merry way...

My first every collage at long last, took me a damn long tme to do, but pretty proud of myself...hahah..sigh,practise makes perfect Posted by Hello
The morning is dragging past extremely slowly. Welcome back to the monotony of worklife which would take some adjusting to, especially after last week's fun. What I would never fail to understand is how come time seems to fly past when I am enjoying myself, but goes excruciatingly slowly at times like now. Even the thought of lunchtime doesnt hold much excitment now cos its always the same few places I go and the same things I eat and see. And nowadays, I feel pretty ostracized from the rest of my colleagues cos I am sitting in a table away from them, pro is that I can slack, con is that I can only listen to their conversations, but never join in. Of course, most of the time, I am cocooned in a dreamy world of my own too,so I feel too anti-social to talk except the customary smile, hi,bye, how was lunch..etc..

And of course, I have other many other things on my mind too. Things arent very rosy with both parents as well.

Conversation with mum last night:
T:I am coming home for dinner tmr, are you cooking?
M: Of course I am...but if you are coming home for dinner just because your bf is not around anymore, you can save it
T: (patiently) He is flying off on sat
M: You can don't come home, I am used to eating alone anyway....

I have nothing to say,she was out socializing and not cooking on mon, tues, wed and thurs, and all I did was not come home for dinner on fri.

Phone conversation with dad:
T: Can I go msia on sat? I will come home on sun
D: You have so many other days, why must u pick sat, u have so many other days?
T: (very nicely) Please...can I go?
D: Well, I cant say no, can I?
Long pregnant pause
T: Well, I guess so
D: You have grown wings already, what can I say....

As it was, sun was spent with both of us not speaking to each other. He was in a snit, and I was not in a placatory mood, so there..... commandment number dunno what, honour thy parents, I am trying....its not working..

And the brownies which I had baked that day that I found seriously lacking in taste and texture which I had kept stored frozen in the fridge suddenly became miraculously delicious after being microwaved on high for 30 secs, it become soft, moist and deliciously warm, only lacking a scoop of vanilla icecream to make it out of this world..hahah...couldnt resist sharing this with u all...
